Strasburg High School

There is a kid that played there last season transfering to Maryville. What do you guys know about Strasburg? Maryville

Strasburg HS

I know they play in the Bull Run District which is an above average district. Really the only team in the District that is any good is Manassas Park. I also think that Strasburg is a Single A school, but I may be wrong there.

This doesn't make any sense, if it is an above average district I would consider it to have 4-5 good teams, with only 1 good team it would be way below average. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

They had several good teams in the late 80s/early 90s.

The proposed Bull Run District for 2007-08/2008-09 looks to me to be a pretty tough district

Clarke County
Madison County
Manassas Park
George Mason
Rappahannock Co.
Strasburg

I would consider this an above average district with all good teams with the least being Clarke and Madison who are still better than average most years with more down years than the others.

Nice little town on I-81 before Wincester.

Longest-tenured head coach in Va. - Glenn Proctor started in 1964 (I think Robbins was still in high school then); won 65% of his games : 293-159-7.

Hey-day was 87-92, with, I think, 4 trips to the finals (includes losses to Jonesville & Appy).

Strasburg Rams

Stasburg lost the Group A title to Jonesville in '88 by a score of 21-20 (I think). We (Appy) beat them 26-20 in '92. I think they lost one more after that. They one a state title a few years ago. I think their coaches name is Proctor. They seem to have a competitive team each year or so.

Strasburg was in the boys basketball final 4 in Norfolk in 1999, losing to Pound 78 to 64 in the State Semi-finals. Seemed to be a good group of folks, good sportsmanship from players and fans.
